There is a difference between a browser and a search engine. Browsers access information on the Internet, whereas a search engine points you in the right direction of a website that relates to the word you typed in.   Whether you call them “browsers” or”search engines”, it’s important to understand that RMIT has recommended tools when searching or accessing  items on the internet. For example Blackboard is compatible with the following:

– Internet Explorer (IE) version 8 or higher

– Safari 4+

– Chrome

– Firefox

When accessing Google, Google recommends Chrome for the best experience. If you are using Internet Explorer, please be aware that Google has discontinued support for Internet Explorer 9 when accessing Google Apps.

Remember to update your browser regularly, and to contact the IT Service and Support Centre to do so.
