Live music concert

Music always makes a video/animation that little bit better, not all kinds of videos will need music, it all depends on the video.

In our team we try to use creative commons content as much as possible, but it all depends on the project and output of the video.

If you want to add music to your video/animation project you’ll need to purchase some or use creative commons music. The type of licensing you choose to use will depend on many factors such as, is your video created for commercial or non commercial use?

Find the correct licensing agreement for your video at creativecommons.org.

My top 4 sites for finding music are:

  1. Free Music Archive

The Free Music Archive offers free downloads under Creative Commons and other licenses and it is very easy navigate and filter the type of music you’re looking for!

  1. Dig CC mixter

This site has a section titles “Free Music for Commercial Projects”. This is easy to navigate which makes it a less painful process to look for music.

  1. Danosongs.com

This is a sight made by Dan-O, who is a singer songwriter who also likes making instrumental music which you can use royalty free.  I have not used this site personally so I can’t vouch for its navigation and ease of use which are very important for me looking for music.

  1. Jamendo Music

This is an excellent site to find music for video of a very high quality, it’s very easy to navigate with an excellent layout. You have to pay for this music but it’s very affordable and had a good variety of quality music.
